Thank you: "I really want to thank all of our sponsors and fans for supporting us this year," Allmendinger said. "I think it was our best year to date competitive wise. It makes us excited for next season. We're ready to put a bow on this season and look forward to the future."

Final race of the season:  “It's the last race of the season and we want to finish strong for our partners," Allmendinger said. "Homestead is a tough racetrack. You only go there once a year at the end of the year. It takes a little time to learn the racetrack again and get going, but we are optimistic about our chances.”
Getting comfortable: “The place has gotten slicker over the years,” Allmendinger said. “You’ve really got to run right against the fence. It’s a place that takes a little bit of time to get comfortable with. In practice, you’re always going out there and trying to work hard on getting comfortable running the top and it’s a fine line in practice because you don’t want to hit the fence and kill the right side of your car.”
Learning and growing: “It’s a track that for 400 miles I feel like I’m always learning and getting better at each time we visit,” Allmendinger said. “It’s the same deal where we are fortunate to take a brand new race car. I think that will make us pretty good. I’m looking forward to it and it’s always a fun place to end the season. There’s a lot of Kroger guests, a lot of sponsors coming out throughout the weekend. We look forward to a good day on Sunday.”

Best season to date: “Looking back, I thought this was our best season to date,” team owner Tad Geschickter said. “I know we made The Chase before. We had some troubles in the summer that kept us from it this season. As a whole, we have been more competitive this year. I feel like we have a clear direction on what we need to do to improve for next year. I’m just proud of our partners, proud of all the guys on the team and proud of AJ. I think we are heading in the right direction.”
First year: “My first year as crew chief has been good,” crew chief Randall Burnett said. “I’ve learned so many things and look forward to continuing to improve with AJ. We had to learn each other pretty quickly and we had some success early on in the season. We’ve all worked really hard this year and we know we’ve had some ups and downs. We’re focused going into next year and making our highs a little higher and keep our lows from going to low. We will make the best out of the weekends that aren’t the greatest and capitalize better on the weekends where we do run well. That’s for sure.”

Respectable performance: “Across the board, overall performance has been better this year,” Burnett said. “We were able to put together two top-five finishes and eight top-10s so far and we’re hoping for number nine this weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway. I’m not sure that JTG Daugherty Racing has had that many top 10's in a season. We look at next year and our goal is to compete competitively consistently. We want to take it a step further and up our results and earn a spot in the chase and pick off some wins along the way.”

Full steam ahead: “Last year, myself and Ernie Cope (competition director) came into this deal mid-December we were able to really get going,” Burnett said. “This time around it’s great that we’ve been able to have worked with everyone for a year. It gives us the opportunity to sit down and have our plans ready going forward. We are already ahead of where we were last winter as far as having cars and gearing up to build cars for next season. Last year, it was the beginning of January before we were able to do that. I think this winter will be more productive for us.”
