AJ Allmendinger wheeled his No. 47 Win My Car Toyota presented by SCOTT® Products to a 20th-place finish in the Hollywood Casino 400 after starting 28th Sunday afternoon. The JTG Daugherty Racing team improved the car significantly after fighting handling problems that led to them changing everything imaginable throughout the course of the weekend.

There were 24 lead changes among 12 drivers with Kevin Harvick beating out Kurt Busch for the victory during the 267-lap event filled with 15 cautions for 71 laps. Matt Kenseth is the current points leader, with Jimmie Johnson trailing by three points.

“The weekend was a struggle,” Allmendinger said. “The guys fought really hard, but we could never make the car very good. It was a frustrating three days, but I was really proud of the guys today because the car was a lot better. We are still not where we need to be, but I am just proud of them and how the car handled better. It was pretty nice to drive and it was the best it had been all weekend. We did what we did to try to stay out of trouble. I think we finished as high as we should have finished. That’s about all we had.”

"I'm real proud of our effort this weekend," crew chief Brian Burns said. "We had a loose wheel that put us back. Everyone fought to get back onto the lead lap and AJ never gave up. We felt like our car was a top-15 car considering everything that happened with the race. It was a great rebound and we are going in right direction. With the new tire, no one was going to have a good balance. It was a situation where you had to have the best ill-handling race car. We had that."

“We fought so hard all weekend to improve the car’s handling,” JTG Daugherty Racing competition director Bobby Hutchens said. “We were behind the eight ball to start with on Thursday. We worked hard to make it better and finally got it to where it was drivable for AJ during the race. That’s attributed to the drive and determination of this race team - - not giving up. To start off where we did and have a good car in the end says a lot about this team.”
