QUOTES:

While running eighth, AJ Allmendinger’s top 10 hopes ended when the No. 77 (Erik Jones) car shot up the track in front of him and his No. 47 Kroger ClickList Chevrolet SS sustained significant right-side damage from the collision. Once repairs were completed by the JTG Daugherty Racing team, Allmendinger returned to the track to finish 30th in the 500-lap event.

"We were shaping up nicely to have a really good day with our No. 47 Kroger ClickList Chevy and running inside the top 10," Allmendinger said. "Unfortunately, I had nowhere to go when something happened to the No. 77 car that shot up the track in front of me. It happened so fast with about 80 laps to go, on what would have been our best run of the day. Unfortunately, there was significant damage to the right side and we had to spend time on pit road repairing the damages to get back out.

"The car was awesome all day and the pit crew had a really solid day on pit road," Allmendinger continued. "I'm proud of everyone and the hard work we put in this weekend. The end result did not define our race today, but we'll move on to Richmond (International Raceway) next weekend and hope for some better luck."
