TEAM QUOTES:

“It was a motor issue of some sort that ended our day," Allmendinger said. "I’m not sure what the exact problem is with the motor. I do know that we had a fast Bush’s Beans Chevy. I was just trying to keep the fenders clean by being smooth and patient. There were a lot of guys already starting to wreck out there, so I was just trying to keep the car clean for the first 400 laps.  We needed to work on it a little bit to be up there with the top three or four guys, but I felt like the car was pretty strong. I noticed some smoke start rolling in the car and I could see it start out of the back of the car. I think when that was happening there had to be debris starting to get on the tires and stuff. The guys jumped under the hood to see if there was a line loose or anything like that, but it wasn't. I just started losing speed and then by that point it was smoking so bad they black flagged me, which they probably should have.  Nobody could see behind me.”

"It's just disappointing," Allmendinger said. "There is nothing we can do as a team right now to be any better. The guys are doing great here at the racetrack and back at the race shop. We have fast race cars. There is just not a lot of luck on our side right now. We will keep digging. We know we have fast stuff. We are way better than we were last year. Hopefully, we are showing that. The results the last couple of weeks have hurt us in points. We will just go win one of these things so we don't have to worry about it."

"We lost a motor," crew chief Brian Burns said. "AJ had been running in the top five and was taking real good care of the BUSH'S Beans Chevy. Then the motor started to fail. It was leaking oil and smoking real bad. He was slipping on the oil and lost positions. It ultimately put us in the garage and ended our day."
