AJ Allmendinger ran as high as second place before pitting under green for a right front tire vibration, but the team fought hard to regain two lost laps and finish 19th on the lead lap at Bristol Motor Speedway Sunday afternoon with the No. 47 BUSH'S Beans Chevrolet SS. Allmendinger picked up a spot in the driver points standings and is currently 14th after the eighth race of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season.

“Best car I’ve ever had here for sure," Allmendinger said. "Actually, it felt like I knew what I was doing around this place.  That was pretty cool.  I was having a lot of fun.  The Gibbs (Joe Gibbs Racing) cars were definitely better, but I think we saw a couple of them obviously were right on the border line of probably having too much camber pushing the limits. We had a pit road problem and it’s the little stuff that we have to keep fixing.  I honestly think we had a… if you look at the top-five results I think I was better than most of them.  I wasn’t going to beat the No. 19 (winner Carl Edwards), but depending on where you restart and everything, I think we were pretty good other than that.  Just a long day, disappointing.  It could have been a lot worse, but it could have been a lot better.”

“We really had a great No. 47 BUSH’S Beans Chevrolet SS today,” crew chief Randall Burnett said. “We got messed up on a pit stop and had a wheel that was loose. We are still looking at it and trying to get to the bottom of it. We had to come in under green and lost a couple laps. We spent the rest of the day fighting to get back on the lead lap, which we did. We had a strong car and AJ drove his guts out. It’s the hardest I’ve ever seen somebody drive to get back up on the lead lap. He did a great job to keep us in it. He just got stuck on the bottom on those last few restarts and couldn’t take advantage and go up through there. You know everybody is battling hard and you get stuck on the bottom in lots of traffic. We will go on and learn from this and go forward.”
