Start:  17th
Finish: 21st

AJ Allmendinger finished 21st in the No. 47 BUSH'S Chili Beans Chevrolet SS during the Bad Boy Off Road 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway Sunday afternoon.

“The guys really did a good job to make us better than we have been here in the past,” Allmendinger said. “It was a lot better than we’ve been. All the work they did was definitely an improvement. Randall Burnett (crew chief) and the guys came up with some good changes over Saturday night with the conditions that we had today and made the car better. We weren’t very good on short runs and we were getting run into by people. I’m disappointed with the finish because we were way better than that, but it’s definitely a positive compared to how we’ve been in the past and for the stuff we are working on to move forward.
“We started 17th and Loudon is a pretty critical track position type of track,” crew chief Randall Burnett said. “It’s really hard to make forward progress at a place like this. We made some really good adjustments going into the race. The car was a little slow to take off on restarts. After a handful of laps, we had really good speed with our car. We would start picking some people off, but those last few restarts didn’t play in our favor. We had a pit road issue a couple times too and kind of got behind. We got caught a lap down when the No. 10 (Danica Patrick) stayed out and everybody else pitted so we had to do the wave around. It was just real hard racing there at the end. Everybody is fighting for everything and nobody will give you an inch. That’s part of it.”

Bush Brothers & Company is proud to sponsor an event for fans of racing and chili alike – the first-ever BUSH’S® Chili Cook-Off, which will be held in five different cities. Participants will have a chance to win local prizes, go on to compete for the grand prize and take the checkered flag for flavor!
Every ingredient counts in great chili, and that’s why BUSH’S® Chili Beans will be a featured ingredient in each cook-off recipe. Participants are provided coupons for FREE BUSH’S Chili Beans, so every competitor has access to these flavorful beans made specifically for chili. The chili will be prepared at home and ready for tasting the morning of each event.
The five area cook-offs will take place in these cities on the following dates:
Harrisburg, NC: September 24, 2016
Hickory, NC: October 1, 2016
Clemmons, NC: October 8, 2016
Southern Pines, NC: October 15, 2016
Greer, SC: October 22, 2016
Then the competition really kicks into high gear, as the first-place winner from each of these area events goes on to compete at the regional chili cook-off held at Martinsville Speedway in Virginia on October 30, 2016. There, participants will compete for the grand prize – a trip to the last race of The Chase at Homestead-Miami Speedway in Florida. And because the best chili always goes fast, they’ll also get to attend the Martinsville race and meet AJ Allmendinger of the #47 team.
Registration for the local cook-offs is open until the day before each event. Hopeful chili champions need only visit for more information, and get ready to cook their way to the winner’s circle!
