AJ Allmendinger finished 16th in the Coca-Cola 600 behind the wheel of the No. 47 Harris Teeter Express Lane/BUSH'S Beans Chevrolet SS Sunday evening at Charlotte Motor Speedway. He is currently one point out of 16th place (17th) in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver points standings after 13 starts.

“Our No. 47 Harris Teeter Express Lane/BUSH’S Beans Chevy was really loose at the start of the race,” Allmendinger said. “It was really a challenge, but that’s the kind of conditions that Charlotte brings.  I thought we might be alright with the cooler temperature, but we were so loose. The guys did the best they could and fought hard to improve it. We got on the other side of it and got too tight at times. We were kind of teetering. We did the best we could to get the most out of it and we will move on to Pocono (Raceway).”
“We had to fight real hard for that 16th-place finish,” crew chief Randall Burnett said. “We kind of missed it with the setup to start with. We thought we were going to be better than that. We went the wrong way on the first adjustment and got behind. We had to come back and regroup and go a completely different direction during the race. We got the car better for him to where he could drive it. There just weren't many cautions for us to capitalize on. The race went green for a long time. All in all, it was a decent points night for us.”
