TEAM QUOTES:
The ‘Big One’ hits early taking out AJ Allmendinger along with at least 11 other drivers on lap 20 of the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona  International Speedway Sunday afternoon.

It all started when Ricky Stenhouse Jr.’s No. 17 machine got a tick sideways next to Tony Stewart setting off the melee that landed Allmendinger in the grass with a busted radiator and major damage to his No. 47 SCOTTĀ® Products Chevrolet SS. As Allmendinger was evaluated and released from the infield care center, the team loaded the car in the hauler since it was not able to return to the track. They were 43rd in the finishing order.
“I can go back and replay it in my head,” Allmendinger said. “My spotter (Josh Williams) said try to get to pit road, which was probably the right call because they were all wrecking on the front straightaway. I tried to turn down and I went to the brakes. I don’t know if it was damp or what, but as soon as I hit the brakes, it just locked the front end up and locked the tires up. At that point, it was just straight into the grass and with all the rain it just dug in and really destroyed the car.”
“We all know the ‘Big One’ is going to happen at some point and you hope you’re not in it and today it happened early and ruined our day,” crew chief Brian Burns said. "It happened so fast. There was really nothing we could do. It's really tough, but we will try to bounce back at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. We really need to turn our luck around because right now because our efforts are not being shown in our results."
