TEAM QUOTES:
AJ Allmendinger and the JTG Daugherty Racing team had a solid weekend finishing 16th with the No. 47 House-Autry Chevrolet SS in the Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway Sunday afternoon.

“This weekend was better for sure,” Allmendinger said.  “The guys put in a lot of hard work obviously with Todd’s (Parrott) help and direction to kind of figure out where we have been lacking. All weekend, the car had decent speed. We definitely need a little bit more to get to that next level, but I feel like we’re about 10 levels higher than where we were last week. We just fought a little bit of balance, which was a little bit tight most of the race. The team made some good adjustments there at the end and got the No. 47 House-Autry Chevrolet SS turning a little bit better and got a lot of speed that last run. I think that last little bit of the race, tires were falling off a little more than I would have liked, but I thought overall we were way better. On Thursday, we threw a lap in the top 10 in practice and then made it through the first round of qualifying and really thought we had a shot to make it through the second round if I would have got the lap a little better. Overall, it was a solid weekend and something we can build off of for these last six races to try to get what we need and get as far up in points as possible.”

“Being an intermediate style racetrack, we’ve struggled a lot there lately,” crew chief Brian Burns said. “To be on the lead lap at the end of the race is a pretty big accomplishment especially when a lot of good teams didn’t finish on the lead lap. The work the guys have done the last few weeks at the shop with Todd Parrott’s help is definitely noticeable. AJ noticed it during the race and throughout the weekend. It definitely feels good to know we are going in the right direction and making progress.”
