TEAM QUOTES:
AJ Allmendinger posted a 24th-place finish in the Federated Auto Parts 400 Saturday night at Richmond International Raceway with the No. 47 Kroger/BUSH'S Beans Chevrolet SS that did not turn well the course of the 400-lap event.

“We had a really good practice on Friday (sixth in first practice and 13th in final practice) with our No. 47 Kroger/BUSH’S Beans Chevrolet SS, but had the same challenges where the front was not turning good enough during the race,” Allmendinger said. “It wasn’t horrible to start, but it wasn’t where we needed it to be. We kept trying to get the front to turn. We didn’t get the front much better and then lost the back for sure. I think the track loosened up a lot and we battled from there.
“It seemed like the RCR (Richard Childress Racing) alliance cars had some challenges as well,” Allmendinger said. “We all missed something there, but I think we can take a little bit from it that we were the best of the group.”
“We fought hard all night long,” crew chief Brian Burns said. “A race like this, you have to look at the positives. We were the best alliance car in the group. We did a few things a little bit different from them this week. We learned a lot during this race watching how everyone performed. We have a good idea of what we need to work on. The car was good on Friday. We have to put our heads together, not get ourselves down and figure out what other organizations have figured out.”
