TEAM QUOTES:
Fighting overall grip at Kentucky Speedway, AJ Allmendinger and the No. 47 Kroger / SCOTT  Products Chevrolet held on to finish 26th in the Quaker State 400 Presented by Advance Auto Parts at Kentucky Speedway Saturday night.

“Everyone worked really hard all weekend at Kentucky Speedway and the crew did a nice job on pit road, but we were not where we needed to be with the No. 47 Kroger / SCOTT Products Chevrolet SS and we just basically fought lack of grip in general during the race,” Allmendinger said. “Really, not having a lot of front grip was our biggest struggle. It’s kind of what we have been fighting all year. We just can’t get the balance right for some reason. We fought that all day and we were bad on the restarts. I thought at times on certain long runs I was okay, but overall I didn’t feel I was going forward very well. At the end, I thought we should have pitted, but hindsight is 20/20. Once you are the first guy without new tires and everybody else behind you has tires, it's tough. We will move on to New Hampshire Motor Speedway. It's a track where we have typically run well. We're looking for a better outcome there."
“It was nice to see a lot of our sponsors out for the race at Kentucky,” Allmendinger said. “It was a big race for Kroger with their home office being based just up the road in Cincinnati. We appreciate all of our sponsors support and our fans too. We’ve got a busy few weeks promoting the brands off track. After doing NASCAR Race Hub in the FOX Sports 1 studio on Monday, I’m heading to Bristol (Tenn.) on Tuesday for Bristol Motor Speedway’s victory tour and to also promote the BUSH’S brand for the race in August. It’s a home race for BUSH’S Beans. Then I’ll come back to Cincinnati the following week to throw out the first pitch with Brad (Daugherty) slated as catcher during Reds Racing Night presented by Kroger.”
