TEAM QUOTES:
AJ Allmendinger is currently 11th in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver points standings after finishing 16th at Phoenix International Raceway with JTG Daugherty Racing's No. 47 Glad® Chevrolet SS. Allmendinger is 15 points out of 10th held by Dale Earnhardt Jr. with the season finale taking place this coming weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

“I was proud of the guys because I thought we were actually pretty good,” Allmendinger said. “On the long runs, we were really, really, really good. We kind of got messed up on restarts a couple of times. The car wasn’t fantastic on restarts. I was a little bit loose. So, if guys got under my car, it took me a couple laps to get going. It was just one of those things at the end. You are danged if you do pit and danged if you don’t pit. We did pit. We took four tires and lost some spots when we did it.

"We just needed a longer run," Allmendinger continued. "To finish 16th isn’t bad, but it is disappointing because for sure on long runs we had a top 10 car and no worse than 12th. The points were really looking good before that last caution that kind of shuffled everybody when we pitted. All the guys I was watching that we were racing, they were behind us or just right in front of us and they were not going to gain a lot. I think that is the most disappointing thing was how the points worked out. We just need to go to Homestead and have a solid race there and accomplish our goals.”
