Growing up in the world of racing, Zach Case knew his next step after high school would be attending the Performance Instruction & Training (PIT) School in Mooresville, N.C. to train to be a NASCAR pit crew member. Case began training as a tire carrier until a shoulder tear put his pit road dreams on hold. He then attended school at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College studying motorsports management until he received the opportunity to work with JTG Daugherty Racing in August 2012.

On weekdays, Case’s duties include assisting in the parts department and driving the pit crew practice car among other things. On the weekends at the track, he helps with pit set-up and hospitality.

Since recovering from his shoulder injury, he has put his goal of being on a NASCAR pit crew back into action by training with jackman and pit crew coach, Michael Klein. He is in line to become the team’s backup jackman during 2014 as he continues to train. Case is ready for this year and continue learning from and training with his teammates to work towards his goal of being a full-time over-the-wall pit crew member.
