AJ Allmendinger and the JTG Daugherty Racing team are fired up to secure a coveted playoff spot in The Chase for their brands during the 2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season. Last year, JTG Daugherty Racing’s brands were front and center leading the 43-car field at Daytona International Speedway, Watkins Glen International, Sonoma Raceway, New Hampshire Motor Speedway and Martinsville Speedway with the No. 47 Chevrolet SS. Allmendinger scored pole awards at both Sonoma Raceway and Watkins Glen International. Also, he collected three top-10 finishes and seven top-15 finishes en route to the season-finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Allmendinger’s first full year with JTG Daugherty Racing in 2014 was a memorable one. The San Jose, Calif.-native delivered the team's first-ever NASCAR Sprint Cup Series victory, Chase berth and highest driver points finish (13th). The San Jose, Calif.-native bested road-course ringer Marcos Ambrose at Watkins Glen International on August 10, 2014 for his first career victory that he had worked so hard for since his initial start in 2006.

It all began in 2013 when Allmendinger appeared in nine races for the single-car operation posting their best finish (10th) of the year at Watkins Glen International. Allmendinger was also impressive in other series. In May with Penske Racing, the Californian led the prestigious Indy 500 and left Indianapolis Motor Speedway with a seventh-place finish. From there, he scored his first-ever NASCAR victory in the Nationwide Series (NNS) at Road America in only his ninth start and followed it with his second-career NNS victory at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

He also drove for Richard Petty Motorsports during the 2009, 2010 and 2011 seasons where he earned four of his five top-five finishes in the NSCS. However, his career-best finish occurred with Penske Racing when he posted a second-place finish at Martinsville Speedway on April 1, 2012.

Before those days, Allmendinger had a stint with Red Bull Racing finishing in the top-10 twice. Allmendinger made his NASCAR debut in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driving for Bill Davis Racing at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on September 16, 2006.

Allmendinger’s versatile résumé’ also includes 2012 Rolex 24 at Daytona winner, 2004 Champ Car World Series Rookie of the Year, 2003 Toyota Atlantic Series Champion and 2002 Barber Dodge Pro Series Champion to mention a few accomplishments in his career. Now, Allmendinger has high hopes that 2016 will be his best year-to-date as he looks to win races and sell cases for his favorite brands.
