BOBBY LABONTE NOTES:
Bobby Labonte came home with a hard-fought 19th-place finish in his No. 47 SCOTT® Products Toyota Camry at Pocono Raceway Sunday afternoon after being scored as high as second place and averting a few accidents in the GoBowling.com 400.
Kasey Kahne won the 160-lap event with a 1.392 (seconds) margin of victory over Jeff Gordon. There were 27 lead changes among 14 drivers and nine caution flags for 35 laps. Jimmie Johnson is the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series points leader with Clint Bowyer trailing by 77 points.
"We tried to get some track position with the No. 47 SCOTT Products Toyota, which turned out good," Bobby Labonte said "We just got beat up pretty bad getting up to speed. Our Camry had older tires and they did not. If we could have got to a point where we were in front of them, it would not have been so bad. We were racing three and four wide at times. We just hung on the best we could. When we put tires on it, it was better at the end."
"It was a good day and we needed the points because we lost some points positions the last couple of weeks," competition director Bobby Hutchens said. "The No. 47 SCOTT Products Toyota was pretty decent. Bobby got shuffled around a bit on that one restart, but he was able to get a couple of those spots back. Overall, we had a pretty good
day. The pit crew did a solid job. Everybody did a nice job and picked things up. We have some positive things to look forward too."
"We had a top 20 goal going into Pocono Raceway," crew chief Brian Burns said. "A top 15 would have been great. If we had a few more things go our way that could have been a definite possibility. We were better than some of those cars in front of us. We were not up there to race them at the end of the race.
"When we unloaded on Friday, on the second run we were six or seven positions better than where we would normally be at Pocono Raceway," Burns continued. "We jumped up to the next level and we were glad that nobody was able to practice on Saturday (due to rain) because we had more to lose and others had more to gain. So, a top 20 was expected and we were hoping for a top 15."

TAILGATER OF THE WEEK:
Happy Holidays during the month of August according to Jim Capurso, whose theme captured the eye of the JTG Daugherty Racing Tailgate Patrol to clench Tailgater of the Week honors.
Capurso, who calls Long Island, N.Y. home, had stockings hung with care, candy canes everywhere, a decorated tree and Santa Claus full of glee. He was celebrating a decade of watching races and good times with close friends from all over the place.
"This is our 10th year anniversary coming to Pocono," Capurso said. "All my friends that you see here, we met here. They are from different areas, such as, Harrisburg, Pa., Rochester, N.Y., Ashburn and Herndon, Va. There are 22 of us here."
Keeping with the theme, Capurso had a holiday dinner Saturday evening that included turkey and ham and then they played Secret Santa. He admitted he enjoys getting everyone together for dinner and followed that up with admitting his favorite thing to grill with Kingsford Charcoal.
"Steaks," Capurso said. "New York strip of course."
Not only is he a fan of Kingsford, he is a fan of other JTG Daugherty Racing brands.
"Thanks for giving us some cans of BUSH's Beans because we can add to the other six cans we have to eat," said Capurso. "We also use Kleenex and Clorox."
